Cortés Chocolate and Cinnamon Coffee Cake
Prep time: 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ tsp salt
1/3 cup butter, diced
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2/3 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sour cream
2 oz Cortés Bar with Cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
PROCEDURE
- Prepare a bundt pan by greasing and dusting it with a bit of flour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Melt the Cortés Bar with Cinnamon and mix it with sour cream.
- Combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the butter cubes to the flour mixture and, using two knives, cut the butter to form a crumbly mix. Set aside ¼ cup of this mixture.
- Add the baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon to the remaining flour mixture. Add the egg and buttermilk and mix well. Pour this mixture into the prepared pan.
- Add spoonfuls of the Cortés Bar with Cinnamon mixture evenly. Insert a skewer or knife vertically and carefully drag it throughout the mixture. This will spread the chocolate mixture through the batter without mixing it completely. The idea is to create a marbled effect.
- Sprinkle with the remaining flour and butter mixture.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Serve warm and enjoy with a delicious cup of Cortés Chocolate or Coffee.
