Place the milk, chocolate stick, gingerbread spice, and sugar in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan.
Stirring constantly, heat ingredients over medium heat until chocolate stick is melted, about 5 minutes.
Mix well to combine then serve in a mug.
If desired, garnish with marshmallows, semi-sweet sprinkles, a dash of spices, and a gingerbread cookie.
